Team 37060 — FTC Sponsorship Package

Build With Us.

Supporting student engineering, robotics and innovation in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. A student-led FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team working through the full engineering process — from first sketch to competition floor.

Who We Are

A student-led FTC robotics team based in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.

What We Do

Design, CAD, manufacture, program and compete with custom competition robots.

What We Need

Support for workshop equipment, fabrication, robot materials, team branding and outreach.

Build Robots. Build Skills. Build the Future.

Who Are The Round Eye Pirates?

A student-led FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team working through the full engineering process — from first sketch to competition floor.

Mechanical Design

Designing robot mechanisms and structures from the ground up.

CAD

Turning ideas into precise digital designs before a single part is cut.

Fabrication

Turning digital designs into physical, functional components.

Programming

Developing the software that controls every movement of the robot.

Testing

Running mechanisms, finding failures, and improving designs.

Teamwork

Managing a complex engineering project together as a team.

"Real engineering starts when the first design doesn't work."

What Is FIRST Tech Challenge?

FTC is a student robotics programme where teams design, build and program robots to compete in an annual engineering challenge — working through the full engineering process from strategy to competition.

Test

FTC gives students an opportunity to work with real engineering constraints and real physical systems. Instead of only learning how something works, students have to make it work — solving problems that textbooks don't cover, managing timelines, working as a team and iterating on designs based on real-world testing.

Technical Skills

  • Mechanical engineering & CAD
  • Fabrication & manufacturing
  • Software programming
  • Systems integration

Professional Skills

  • Problem solving under constraints
  • Project & timeline management
  • Communication & documentation
  • Iterative design thinking

More Than A Competition Robot

Our goal is not simply to build one successful competition robot. We want to develop a stronger engineering workspace that allows our team to prototype, manufacture and improve designs more effectively.

1.Robot Development

Mechanical components, structural materials and robot construction for each competition season.

2.Fabrication Capability

3D printing, machining, laser cutting, CNC and workshop tooling to manufacture custom parts.

3.Rapid Prototyping

Producing test mechanisms, fixtures, jigs and design iterations quickly and affordably.

4.Team Presentation

Banners, pit displays, team shirts, jerseys if produced, and sponsor branding at events.

5.Community Outreach

Robotics demonstrations, STEM activities and resources for younger students in Hawke’s Bay.

"Every piece of equipment we add to our workshop can continue helping students long after a single competition season ends."

Long-Term Impact

A 3D printer, laser cutter, CNC machine or professional set of workshop tools does more than improve one robot. It creates a better engineering environment that can continue supporting students and future team members for years to come.

Your investment in Team 37060 is an investment in the next generation of engineers, manufacturers and problem-solvers right here in Hawke's Bay.

"Design it. Build it. Break it. Learn from it. Build it better."
